Visit with Noel Gerber

On March 22, 2013 brothers Dave and Dwight Gerber sat down with first cousin Noel Gerber, at his home in Middlebury to capture some of the stories he remembered from his childhood.    The following is a video of our afternoon and the oral stories shared by Dave, Noel and Dwight.

The Genesis of the Blog

In March of 2013, Dwight called me and said he wanted to start recording the history of the Gerber family.   He was particularly interested in getting his brother, Dave to recant some of the stories he knew.   Dave and Dwight have visited Wayne county twice in the past year, reconnecting with their roots and visiting the sites from their youth.   Dwight was even excited because when he was down in Florida, his wife Paula's uncle and his wife were both students under Ross Gerber in Apple Creek, Ohio.    They pulled out a class photo and newspaper announcement about Ross.  They are both displayed below.
